Creamy pudding, crunchy cookies & gummy worms — these gluten free dirt cups are a fun, kid-approved treat perfect for Earth Day or any celebration.

Gluten Free Dirt Cups
As a child, dirt cups were one of my favorite treats: silky chocolate pudding, crunchy cookie crumbs and, of course, gummy worms. These gluten free dirt cups capture that same playful spirit while using gluten free ingredients, so everyone at the table can enjoy them. They’re simple to assemble, require only a few ingredients, and appeal to both kids and adults.
Beyond being a tasty snack, gluten free dirt cups make a great hands-on activity for learning. They’re ideal for Earth Day lessons in April, but also work well for gardening or plant units. Letting children make their own cups encourages participation and curiosity — you can use the treat as a springboard to talk about the role of worms in soil health and composting.
These dirt cups are also perfect for birthday parties, classroom snacks, or any time you want a festive, easy-to-make dessert.

Do It Yourself
Goodie Girl’s Midnight Brownie Cookies are an excellent choice for this recipe because they’re gluten free and peanut free, making them classroom-friendly. For a DIY activity, give each child a pudding cup, a small bag of crushed cookies, and a few gummy worms. Kids can crush cookies directly in a bag and then spoon their “dirt” on top of the pudding — a quick, tidy way to let them participate.
If you prefer to make everything from scratch, you can prepare a homemade chocolate pudding to layer in the cups. For older kids or adults, try serving a more refined parfait made with Midnight Brownie Cookies for extra texture and flavor.

This month there’s a promotion on Goodie Girl Midnight Brownie Cookies that includes a discount and free shipping, making it easy to get the cookies in time to prepare these treats for Earth Day or any gathering.
Do you have favorite Earth Day activities or classroom treats you like to make? These dirt cups are an easy, memorable addition to holiday projects and snack time alike.
