Port Orleans Resort is one of my favorite Disney World Hotels. Here is my Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside review.

Disney World Hotels
A few weeks ago I attended the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. The resort grounds are beautiful and full of charming details that reflect New Orleans style. Port Orleans Riverside is classified as a moderate Disney Resort, offering a balance of theming, amenities, and value.
If you enjoy resort reviews, I also wrote about Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Follow Disney Hungry on Instagram for tips and favorite dining spots at Walt Disney World.

Port Orleans Entrance
This is the resort entrance.

The approach to the doors showcases colorful facades and New Orleans-inspired architecture.

Welcome!

Port Orleans Resort Rooms
A typical one-bedroom layout with two queen beds.

The headboards and décor include thoughtful touches that enhance the overall atmosphere.

A compact bathroom sits in the corner and a small desk area holds the TV with a refrigerator tucked below in the cabinet.

Dramatic curtains and shutter-style window coverings add to the room’s character.

Port Orleans Riverview Lobby
The lobby is light, open, and welcoming.

The registration area is on the right when you enter.

Staff at registration were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Fulton’s General Store
Fulton’s General Store stands out as one of the best resort shops I’ve visited. It offers a wide selection of Disney souvenirs plus a small grocery area stocked with essentials, making it easy to pick up snacks, toiletries, or last-minute items.

A bright front corner of the shop—fun to browse.

The lobby also features River Roost, a casual restaurant and lounge area.

The back entrance to the lobby is particularly scenic.

Port Orleans Restaurants
River Roost sits within the lobby area and offers convenient dining and drinks near registration.

Boatwright’s Dining Hall is another full-service option with classic Southern-inspired dishes.

For quick-service meals, The Riverside Mill offers multiple stations and a variety of choices—order at the station and pay at the central cashier.

The interior of The Riverside Mill features clear signage and food stations for easy ordering.

A view above the food stations shows the bright, open layout.

Port Orleans Riverview Grounds
The walkways throughout the property are lovely and easy to stroll.

Boats and water features line many paths, adding to the relaxed riverfront atmosphere.

Crossing a charming bridge on the way to our room.

Colorful signs make it easy to find your building and amenities.

Port Orleans Pool
The pool complex is family-friendly with features and activities geared toward kids.

Lush landscaping, trees, and water views run throughout the property and make walks around the resort very pleasant.

A peaceful walk toward our building—very scenic.

We found our building—nice signage and landscaping guide the way.

The resort captures New Orleans charm through architecture, color, and thoughtful design elements throughout the grounds.
A few practical notes: Port Orleans French Quarter is a short boat ride away and looks like a great option to try next time—especially for beignets. If you plan to use the resort buses, allow extra travel time to reach the parks; during my stay we waited in line about 20 minutes for a bus and spent roughly 15–20 minutes in transit, so factor that into your schedule. The resort is also close to Disney Springs by boat or bus, which makes it easy to explore shops and dining outside the parks.
Overall, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is an excellent moderate-category choice, offering strong theming, pleasant grounds, solid dining options, and convenient access to other Disney destinations.
